◾The earth is made up of rocks and soil . ◾The rocks are made up of small grains which are of naturally occurring substances known as minerals. KINDS OF ROCKS: 1. Igneous Rocks ◾The word Igneous means fiery (consisting of fire). ◾ These rocks are formed by the cooling of molten rocks. Q. Define magma.  Ans - The hot liquid-rock, that lies below the earth's crust is called magma. Q. Define lava.  Ans - The magma that reaches the earth's crust and flows out is called lava.
