What could happen if we stay in lockdown for longer?

Image
The air will be cleaner, the water will be purer and the Earth will heal from what we have done to it for years. Here are 8 signs of that happening already 1. Water in the Ganga is now clean enough to drink Despite its sacred status and various rejuvenation plans, the Ganga remained a severely polluted river. But with industries shut and no effluents flowing into the river, plus lack of activity at the ghats due to the lockdown, the Ganga is now cleaner than ever. So much so that the water at Har Ki Pauri, the famous ghat on the banks of the river in Haridwar, has been now  declared  fit for drinking. Even in Varanasi, with factories shut and no one bathing or using the ghat as a public toilet, the river water has  improved  by “40 to 50 percent”. Discovery Channel India ✔ @DiscoveryIN The water quality of the mighty Ganga river has seen a drastic improvement since we’ve stayed indoors. Thank you and continue to be # HeroesFromHome 2. The project had originally been initiated by TTD’s Sri Venkateswara Employees’ Training Academy (SVETA) in 2016 but had been discontinued later. It has been reported that TTD will be working in collaboration with the State Endowments department for this project and construct about 500 temples. The move is indeed encouraging because, for the longest time, the re...
